COVID-19 Update

Dear All,
Greetings to you in the Name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

We as a local church in our little corner here in Walthamstow have been responding to the coronavirus pandemic in line with the gospel. At the moment, our church building here at Kevan Court is closed indefinitely as we follow the guidelines of our government and with a strong emphasis on ‘Social Distancing’ as a token of love to fellow professing believers, our neighbours and most importantly, we are situated within the premises of the local council sheltered housing for the elderly where many residents who are friends of the church are well over 70 years old.

Twice this week, our pastor, ‘Wale had visited church members on his bicycle- He’d ride to the road pavement near the window of the church members, call their mobile phone number and ask that they come to the window with their family where they would then chat and pray together, maintaining the mandatory distance. This has tremendously helped us to maintain fellowship and also to talk with one another. ‘Wale is hoping to continue this in the coming weeks, God willing. Tomorrow, ‘Wale will go to the church building at 9am to record a sermon for the members and others who may want to listen to it. The title of the sermon is, ‘Peace in the valley of the shadow of death’ and the text is taken from Psalm 23. We hope that this sermon will be a blessing and an encouragement to the local church and others in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Lastly, we were supposed to be hosting a 1-Day Conference today with Pastor Conrad Mbewe from Kabwata Baptist Church, Lusaka Zambia teaching on the dangers of the ‘Prosperity gospel of health and wealth’ but had to be cancelled. We will inform you all of the future date.

Be encouraged by the words of the Apostle Paul In Ephesians 1:3-10
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.”
